Jennifer Samson Billet has a background in a variety of migration topics, academically and professionally. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the London School of Economics in International Migration and Public Policy. Her academic research is concentrated on understanding the migration policy formulation process and how it can be harnessed to increase international refugee quotas and migrant reception in the Global North. Prior to this degree, she worked for four years as an immigration paralegal in the United States. Her focus was mainly on drafting corporate employment, permanent residence, and family reunification petitions. Further, she has practiced as a liaison to the federal U.S. government, U.S. consulates, foreign embassies, and U.S. politicians in past positions working for immigration law firms, a foreign embassy, and a U.S. Congresswoman. Jennifer is passionate about advocating for migrants and promoting humane and sensible migration policy worldwide.
